The WordPress backup and migration plugin you can undo.
Back up, move and sync WordPress sites without fear. Every restore is checked first, can be undone, and rolls itself back if it breaks the site.
What is MoveSafe?
MoveSafe is a WordPress backup and migration plugin from AM Computers that also syncs two sites, such as local and live. Before a restore replaces anything, it shows what will change and takes a restore point you can undo in one click. For 30 minutes afterwards it watches for crashes and rolls the site back if it keeps failing.

How is MoveSafe different from other backup plugins?
Most tools restore first and leave you to find out what broke. MoveSafe checks first and keeps a way back.
| Typical approach | MoveSafe | |
|---|---|---|
| Before a restore | Restore and hope | Compares the backup with the site and shows what will change |
| If the restore breaks the site | White screen, call a developer | Holding page for visitors, then automatic rollback |
| Undo | Find an older backup | One click, or an emailed rescue link |
| Backup, migration and sync | Often three separate plugins | All three in one plugin |
| What you can restore | Usually the whole site | Chosen files, folders, the database or some tables |
| Cloud storage | Often a paid add-on | Google Drive in one click |
What does MoveSafe do?
- 01
Safe restore
Before anything is replaced, see which files change, what you edited since the backup, version and PHP differences, and any posts, comments or orders you would lose.
- 02
Restore points and rescue link
A safety copy is taken before every restore, pull and push. Undo it in one click, or from an emailed rescue link when wp-admin will not load.
- 03
Automatic recovery
For 30 minutes after a restore, crashes are watched. Visitors see a short "being restored" page instead of an error, and the site rolls itself back if it keeps failing.
- 04
Partial restore
Restore chosen files and folders, the whole database, or only some tables. Fix a broken plugin without rolling back the orders from last week.
- 05
Migration and cloning
Move or clone to a new domain, a subfolder, http to https or a local copy. Every address in the database is rewritten, including serialized data.
- 06
Site sync
Connect two sites, such as local and live, and pull or push the whole site, the database, some tables or only changed files over signed HTTPS.
- 07
Google Drive backups
Connect in one click. Each site gets its own folder, uploads resume and are checked, and you can keep backups on Drive only.
- 08
Scheduled backups
Eight frequencies from hourly to monthly, at the exact time you choose, with old backups cleaned up automatically.
- 09
Security and access
Limit the plugin to chosen people or roles, keep a tamper-evident activity log, and revoke every key and connection in one place.
How does a MoveSafe backup work?
Backups are built in short steps, so even large sites on modest hosting finish without hitting time limits.
- 01
Read your site
The database and files are read a little at a time, so the host never stops the backup for running too long.
- 02
One .zip file
Everything goes into one standard zip that opens with normal tools. Add a password for AES-256 encryption.
- 03
Checked
The finished backup is checked before it appears in your list of backups.
- 04
Stored safely
In a protected folder the web server will not serve, on Google Drive, or both. Drive uploads resume and are verified.
How does a safe restore work?
Every restore follows the same six steps: you stay in control at the start, and there is always a way back at the end.
- 01
Check
Compare the backup with the live site: files that change, edits since the backup, versions, PHP and content you would lose.
- 02
Safety copy
A restore point of the site as it is now is taken automatically before anything is replaced.
- 03
Restore
Only what you chose is replaced. WordPress core, wp-config.php and .htaccess are never touched.
- 04
Fix addresses
URLs are rewritten if the backup came from another address, permalinks are rebuilt and caches cleared.
- 05
Watch
For 30 minutes, crashes are watched. Visitors see a short holding page instead of an error.
- 06
Undo if needed
The site rolls itself back if it keeps crashing, or you undo in one click or from the emailed rescue link.

How does site sync work?
Connect two sites running MoveSafe, such as a copy on your computer and your live site, then pull or push between them.
- 01
This site
The site you are working on, for example your local copy.
- 02
Signed HTTPS
The two sites trust each other through a shared key, and every request between them is signed.
- 03
The other site
For example your live site. Works with page caches, firewalls and hosts that block the REST API.
What happens on every pull or push
- Compare. WordPress, PHP, theme and plugin versions are compared, with a warning if either site was updated since the last sync.
- List the changes. The site you are working on asks the other for what changed since the last sync.
- Take a restore point. Every sync can be undone, just like a restore.
- Move only what you chose. The whole site, the database, some tables or only changed files.
How does the Google Drive connection work?
Connecting takes one click and needs no Google Cloud setup. The sign-in goes through our connect service at connect.amcomputerstx.com.
- 01
Your WordPress site
You click Connect in MoveSafe.
- 02
Connect service
Our service at connect.amcomputerstx.com relays the Google sign-in for MoveSafe.
- 03
Google sign-in
You approve one narrow permission, drive.file.
- 04
Your Drive folder
Backups go into the site's own folder in your Drive, with resumable, checked uploads.
What the permission allows
- Only its own files. With drive.file, MoveSafe can see only files it created or files you pick, never the rest of your Drive.
- Sites stay apart. Sites that share one Google account each list and restore only their own backups.
- Clean-up is limited. MoveSafe only ever deletes backups it uploaded itself.
- Disconnect any time. Disconnecting revokes access at Google straight away.

Questions about MoveSafe
MoveSafe is a WordPress backup and migration plugin made by AM Computers. It backs up, restores, migrates and syncs WordPress sites, checks every backup against the live site before restoring, and keeps a restore point so any restore can be undone.
Pricing is not set yet. Until the WordPress.org listing goes live, email us to ask for early access.
Yes. MoveSafe imports .wpress backup files made by All-in-One WP Migration and other .wpress based tools, with no upload size limit from your host. MoveSafe is a separate product and is not affiliated with ServMask.
Google Drive today, using the narrow drive.file permission, so the plugin only sees files it created or files you pick. Other destinations are on the roadmap.
No. MoveSafe never touches WordPress core files, wp-config.php, .htaccess or cache drop-ins during a restore.
The receiving site keeps its own search engine visibility setting, so a staging copy that was hidden stays hidden and a live site is not accidentally set to noindex.
